Adam Oates, known for being an elite playmaker, finished with a career total of 1,079 assists, fifth-highest in NHL history at the time of his retirement. Since his retirement, Oates has been named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame with the Class of 2012.
